Sharjah International School is a day school located in Al Qarain,Sharjah (UAE). It is one of the best schools which cater to the needs of parents for both Arabic and British Curriculum (Boys and Girls).
It was founded in 1996 by Sheikh Faisal Bin Khalid Al Qassimi, the owner and Mrs. Sawsan Abdul Fattah the Principal of the school. The school began as a small pre-school and primary section with about 100 students on its role. Initially it was operating from a villa in Al Fahya, but as the strength increased the school soon had a huge campus in Al Qarain area which is its present location.
The new campus came up in 2008 and has separate wings for Arabic and British curriculum. It now has the pre-primary, primary and even secondary section (under process) . The number of students has crossed over 2000. Students from over 40 different nationalities study and play here, irrespective of their ethnic background. Students of age 3 to 18 years are admitted after a short entrance exam in English and Mathematics.
The new campus has an extension as more science laboratories and technology blocks are being added. It boosts of large play fields where students are taught different outdoor games. They are trained to participate in different inter-school competitions. The school ensures that the students have an all round development. Canteen, water coolers,clean toilets with hand driers and sanitizers are some of the basic facilities provided by the school.
The teaching staff compromises of both male and female teachers coming from different parts of the world. Most of the teachers teaching in British Section are Non Arabs while in the Arabic Section are all Arabs.
The school has a huge fleet of buses to provide transport for students from Sharjah,Dubai,Ajman, Al Dhaid,and even Umm Al Quwain! These buses are supervised by well trained staff.
