AIS / IAS plans to increase fees by 20% approved by the UAE Education Ministry after only 10% approved by the Sharjah Education Zone (SEZ) according to a Gulf News report - The Sharjah Educational Zone had previously rejected the school's request for a 20 per cent hike applicable from September this year. Fawzia Hassan Gareeb, Director of Sharjah Educational Zone, said a 10 per cent increase was approved. The school then approached the ministry.
The school reportedly has financial difficulties - The school's principal, Anett Wilson, said the school has been in the red since its opening. "In case the request is not approved," Wilson wrote to parents, "the school will have to take certain procedures to cut its losses. These may include lowering wages, increasing the number of students in classes and shutting down some classes."
