Regent International School, (RIS), is an international day school offering the National Curriculum (UK) from the Early Years Foundation Stage to the 6th Form. The IGCSE/GCSEs are offered at Years 9 to 11 and the A/AS Levels at Years 12 and 13. We are a well-established all-through school, delivering consistent results in the classroom to over 1,400 students.

Regent International School is situated in The Greens which is part of Emaar’s Emirates Living Community, a flagship residential communities set in green belts, lakes, golf courses and retail developments.
RIS is located off the 5th interchange on the Sheikh Zayed Road and is also adjacent to the world-famous Emirates Golf Club. (The Greens is next to other Emaar communities of the Springs, Meadows, Hattan, Views, Lakes, Hills).
The School is 5 to 10 minute drive from Jumeirah Village, Jumeirah Islands, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai Internet & Media Cities, Tecom, Knowledge Village, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah. The school is 20 minutes away from Emaar’s Downtown Dubai community and 15 minutes away from Emaar’s Arabian Ranches community.
With easy access from the Sheikh Zayed road, the School is also patronised by families living in Dubai’s traditional neighbourhoods of Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Barsha, Jebel Ali, and Bur Dubai.
At RIS, we impart an all-round quality education through an inspired delivery of the National Curriculum for England and Wales leading to the IGCSE at the end of Years 10 and 11 and the A-Levels at Senior School (Years 12 and 13). An informal assessment will be held with the child to assess suitability and readiness to start school.
Year 1 - Year 13:
Admissions are subject to an interview and successful completion of the School’s Assessment Tests in English and Maths. Where applicable, review of records from the student’s previous school(s) are also considered.

Curriculum Information
Regent International School is divided into three sections: the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Primary School, and the Secondary School (which is further sub-divided into Middle School and Senior School). Emphasis is placed on academic continuity through each section.
RIS provides a rigorous all-round education within an innovating and enlightening environment using both the traditional, tried and tested as well as the modern forms of education strategies.
Our National Curriculum for England and Wales (UK Curriculum) includes nine areas of learning:

Students are provided a wide choice of subjects. The Curriculum centres round a group of core life-skills in the areas of English, Maths, coping with the world of work, adaptability, skills and leadership. Information Technology is introduced to students aged 5 years onwards.
Assessments
Effective assessment enables students to make smooth progress through school. We use assessment to adapt our curriculum around the needs, capabilities and aspirations of our students, to fulfil the objectives of the short, medium and long term plans (based on the National Curriculum, National Strategy and the QCA Guidelines) and to plan and strengthen learning.
A student will be assessed throughout the year, both formally and informally. All student work is marked at the school and guidance is given to each student on strengths and areas for development.
Types of Assessments
a) End of Unit Assessments
Students take a summative assessment at the end of every Unit of Learning in all subjects. Students sit for these unaided school assessments which gauge if students have met the learning objectives for that Unit of Learning.
b) End of Term Tests
Students from Year 1 onwards take an unaided school-made End of Term Assessment (i.e. test) in all subjects at the end of every term. Students in Years 10 & 11 sit for mock IGCSE exam papers in the subject (which they have chosen) at the end of every term. At the end of each term, teachers award each student in class a National Curriculum Level from Year 1 to 9 and an IGCSE predictive score in years 10, 11.
c) End of Year Tests
Students in Years 1 - 9 take school devised assessments in other subjects
Students in Years 2 - 9 take standardized assessments (SATs) in English, Maths & Science
Students in Years 10 & 11 take mock IGCSE exam papers in the subjects which they have chosen
At the end of every year term, teachers award each student in class a National Curriculum Level, and an IGCSE predictive score in Years 10 and 11.
Students in Years 12 take AS level / IBDP exam papers (to be introduced at a later date).
Students in Years 13 take the A’ Level / IBDP exam papers (to be introduced at a later date).
d) Reading Assessments
The school uses diagnostic assessment (PM Benchmark) to determine a student’s National Curriculum English attainment in reading. These provide:

Teachers share and discuss the Assessments results with students individually.
Parents are informed of Assessment results via Reports at formal Parent-Teacher meetings.
At the end of term, the School provides parents their child’s level of attainment in the National Curriculum in each subject in the End of Term Report.
